Murdock's check out of my wallet, endorsed it, made out a deposit slip and a check for cash, got my bank book out of the desk, and folded the lot under a rubber band and put them in my pocket. Liczyłem na to, że wystarczą mu jakieś dwa tygodnie z nami. Myślałem, że już po takim okresie może zacznie grać. A jednak dostał szansę od razu, niemal z marszu. Trener Michał Probierz obdarzył go dużym kredytem zaufania, a Rafał wspaniale to wykorzystał. Trochę mnie to wszystko zaskoczyło. Wiem, że to dobry, inteligentny piłkarz, ale z wchodzeniem do nowego zespołu bywa różnie. Zdecydowanej większości zawodników zabiera to na pewno więcej czasu. Wiem coś o tym sam. Dużo łatwiej było mi w Hiszpanii niż w Anglii. Do tego koniecznie trzeba dodać Rafała Grzyba, który przyjechał do Białegostoku już po meczu w Kielcach. Wkomponował się bardzo dobrze w zespół i zagrał we Wrocławiu na wysokim poziomie. Grał bodajże z 90-procentową dokładnością.
